Sally's Story

Life Moved to San Francisco with my daughter, Emma, in June, 2006. Art Director and Associate Producer for Adobe Systems' Multimedia Division in San Jose. Moved to Cupertino in mid-September 2006, Emma attending middle school here. We have two dogs: Katie (Australian Shepherd/Dachshund) and Lily (Jack Russell Terrier). We have lived in MANY places around the country, including Lititz, PA; Philadelphia, Atlanta, Oceanside, CA, San Diego and San Francisco. I traveled extensively around the U.S. as an Adobe trainer for many years before landing my dream job with Adobe. It is a joy to finally have a great job with NO travel, so I can be home for Emma and the pups. Enjoying learning our way around northern CA, since we moved here from southern CA. Love hiking the Sutro Baths, hanging on the beach at Crissy Field or Santa Cruz, having a latte at the Grove on Fillmore, shopping at Santana Row. Love driving through Half Moon Bay in the AM, seeing the fog that covers the mountaintops. So grateful I appreciate those things and have raised my daughter to do the same. I still talk to Sabrina King every day, after more than 30 years of friendship! I have kept in regular contact with Bill (Filmore) Fox, Mark and Matt Karn, Harley Pratt, Geno Ferruzza, Susan (Butz) Carlson, Linda Krall, Laurie Latsko, Maggie Gaddis. Can't believe I am 50, can it be true? I don't feel my age, and hope I never do . . . School I tortured Mr. Garnhart, which I regret, but he got over it, thankfully. I miss the innocence in high school though, at the time, I did not see it. I wish I had loved learning then as much as I do now. (I am a PBS junkie.) a day, to relive a lot of the memories that are a bit fuzzy now. But being a teenager again? No way, I like the wisdom age has bestowed on me. I wore a lot of "rust" in the seventies, now I won't buy anything that color. I am amazed at how little I knew about life and how much I THOUGHT I knew. Growing older is quite humbling, thankfully. Workplace I started my career as a typesetter, and graphic artist. I spent 12 years working for a printing company on the South Side of Pittsburgh. I moved my young daughter and I to Amish Country in the middle of the state, to manage a small print shop's production department. A stroke of luck put me in Philly as an Adobe trainer, where I began writing books and white papers on Adobe software. My training career developed and I began traveling the globe doing custom Adobe training. We moved to Atlanta where the travel increased dramatically. Our next move was to San Diego, where I was a faculty member of Art Institute of CA-San Diego. I began training on my own, as an independent contractor and later moved us to San Francisco, to better position myself for a job with Adobe Systems. In Summer, 2006, I got hired as Art Director/Associate Producer on the Multimedia team. I produce and direct Flash animations and videos for the adobe.com, as well as create demo scripts and assets for use with new versions of our software. I am a Certified Technical Trainer, Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive, Acrobat, PageMaker. I also am well-versed in Flash, Dreamweaver, FrameMaker, RoboHelp, Captivate, Contribute, Acrobat 3D, HTML, XML, SGML, JavaScript. Oh yes, I am a Mac Geek to the core, and so is my kid.
