Sally's Story

Life I live in San Antonio TX. My oldest son, Curry has a welding business here and also works for a local welding company. My middle son, Corey lives in the Medical Center area and he and his partner George opened a new club called Faulkers Pub in the month of November. You can check it out at online (at faulkers dot com). Classmates won't allow an actual link. He is the father of all four of my grandchildren. Joey who will graduate from high school next year, Emily, Ashton, and my youngest granddaughter Brenndolyn, all live in San Antonio. My youngest son Steven spent a year of language study in Nagoya Japan. He taught himself Japanese while home schooling through junior high and high school. He spent three more weeks in Japan in July '09. He is finishing his education at the University of Texas San Antonio and then plans to live in Japan for awhile. My ex-husband, Dewitt lived in San Antonio as well and was really a whole-hearted Texas transplant. He retired from USAA, was disabled in 2007 after having a lung removed, and passed away 7/27/09. After graduation in 1969, Dewitt and I were married in Rayne and then moved to Houston TX in 1970 where I lived before my family moved to Rayne in 1962. We lived in Houston for over 12 years and then moved to San Antonio. Our youngest son and I have also lived for a short time in Abilene TX in 1992 and more recently spent 4 years in Nacogdoches TX where I cared for my father from 1997 until his death in the su...Expand for more
mmer of 2001. My mother passed away in Nacogdoches in 1989. I decided in 2002 to go to college online. I completed an associate degree in business admin, but thought it was way too boring after being in business admin for over 20 years, so I graduated magna cum laude in the bachelor program in visual communication in 2005 at AIU. Currently I work for Kraft Foods Global. Can you picture me in the Payroll department? Not my usual style. I started working there while I was going to school online, and have stayed since I have my college student son on my insurance right now. I decided I might as well go back and get a masters degree in management, so I'm attending University of Phoenix at San Antonio. The campus is actually right down the hill from where I live. I am also a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant and became a director and drove a Pontiac G6 Mary Kay car most of 2007. I am rebuilding my team and hope to be driving a new Chevrolet Malibu Mary Kay car soon! Prior to my current job I spent 5 years as the Editorial Assistant for the journal Human Brain Mapping, with the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and have worked for Stephen F. Austin State University, Valero Energy, Varian Instruments, and a number of corporations over the years. Who knows what the future will bring. I may even write a few books. Now with a graphic design degree I could illustrate them as well! Hope to see all of you in Rayne for our next class reunion!
