Sally's Story
Since high school---wow that is a long story. Well, I married classmate Tom Bender in 1966, a week after college graduation. We lived in Davis for 5 years where I worked in the university library and Tom on his PhD. I also finished a Masters degree in Education. After graduate school we moved to Wisconsin where I worked in the public library, learned to love the Packers and shovel snow.... then in 1974 we moved to New York City! I went back to school again, and earned a Masters degree in Library Science. Since then I've worked in all sorts of libraries--colleges, publishing houses, and private schools. I reviewed books for 18 years for an annual publication--Best Books of the Year. I can honestly say it has been a great career.
My son, David, was born in 1977, lives in Washington, DC and is a Middle East analyst. Tom and I divorced in the 80s. He continues to teach at New York University.

h and have become a library consultant. My first consulting job is with the Yangon International School in Myanmar! I cannot attend our reunion because I will be on my way to Burma/Myanmar for a month! Whew! From there I am planning to travel to Thailand, Cambodia and Viet Nam (cannot believe I am going there as a tourist....history is amazing).
I have been a New Yorker for nearly 40 years and love living in Manhattan, cannot imagine living anywhere else. I have lived in Greenwich Village for most of these years and recently scaled down to an apartment across from the UN.
Wish I could join you at the reunion, I have great memories of Santa Clara--from being on the school paper to cheerleading. Speaking of cheerleading, Bev Schuler and I had lunch together in Walnut Creek about 5 years ago. But where is our third cheerleader, Kay Colby?
Have a wonderful time celebrating that Great Class of 62! Go Panthers!!
