Since high school---wow that is a long story. Well, I married classmate Tom Bender in 1966, a week after college graduation. We lived in Davis for 5 years where I worked in the university library and Tom on his PhD. I also finished a Masters degree in Education. After graduate school we moved to Wisconsin where I worked in the public library, learned to love the Packers and shovel snow.... then in 1974 we moved to New York City! I went back to school again, and earned a Masters degree in Library Science. Since then I've worked in all sorts of libraries--colleges, publishing houses, and private schools. I reviewed books for 18 years for an annual publication--Best Books of the Year. I can honestly say it has been a great career. My son, David, was born in 1977, lives in Washington, DC and is a Middle East analyst. Tom and I divorced in the 80s. He continues to teach at New York University.
