Sam's Story
I took my father's advice: learn something about everything and you'll be able to take care of yourself. I learned to fix, build and sell houses; I learn to fix and race cars; I learned to build and program computers. I was about to be an engineer but King George I was elected and destroyed the auto industry with thousands of layoffs. My mother than gave me her 2 cents: Learn everything about something people need and you will be a success. A prominent attorney I knew told me that with every new case, you get a new story and some of them are very interesting. So I went to law school and became a municipal attorney representing several prominent communities. I won every case I ever had, including a $3,000,000,000 case for a wealthy community, without ever having to settle a case. Around that...Expand for more
time I met a North Carolina women unlike any other women I had met before, always saying and doing the exact right thing including that she would move to Michigan so I finally gave in and got married. But, she says, she couldn't sell her medical practice because NC is very restrictive on who they license to practice. So I moved to NC. A concierge at a hotel on the coast said it best: We thank God for Mississippi being 50th in education. NC has that oder of in-breading. No kids unless and until I'm out of NC--maybe Italy or Turkey; both fun places with great food. So the latest change of plans makes me semi-retired and part-time commercial real estate investor--primarily medical office for tenants who pay the rent. Sorry this was so long-winded.
It's almost 25 years! Who can believe that?
