Sam's Story
Life
This won't take long. I spent my first 14 years in Memphis at West Frayser elementary school (Westside?) then Frayser high school through the 9th grade in 1960. My family moved from there to Grenada, MS, for a year. I was 15, had a car (1954 Chrysler New Yorker Deluxe) and feel like that's where I grew up. It was probably my best year ever. From there we moved to Moss Point, MS, for my Junior and Senior years in high school. There were seven of us in a 58 foot trailer and my kids now ask me if I had to walk to school barefoot in the snow, too. Very sympathetic. I had some good times at Moss Point then we moved to Alexandria, VA, in 1964 after I graduated from high school. I worked for a year, almost got drafted then went to college at Ole Miss. arned to drink (not), and graduated somehow. I went back to Virginia and worked for the Navy as a computer programmer. After 4 months, I did get drafted, spent a year in Virginia at Ft. Myer then volunteered for Hawaii and spent a tough year there. Actually, it wasn't that tough. I tried to drink all the Boone's Farm Apple Wine on the island but wasn't successful. I got out of the Army after my two years, went back to work for the Navy for 3 years, got married had two great kids, boy and a girl, and am now living in Melbourne, Florida. I feel like I've retired but I still have to work. My interests now, naturally, have turned to boating, golf, and biking. Life has been good to me and I would like to keep in contact with old friends. Let me hear from you, if you can remember me. Sam
