Sammie's Story
Life
I graduated in 1974.I live in Savannah,
Ga., and teach high school French at Calvary Baptist
Temple. I was a missionary in the Cote d'Ivoire in
West Africa for three years and spent 3 years in
France, 1 in Albertville, France, learning to speak
French, and then after the 3 years in Africa, I got my
masters degree in Applied Linguistics and taught
American and British phonetics at the University of
Paris for two years on an exchange program with USF. I
was the director of the English as a Second Language
program at the Savannah College of Art and Design for

years and then came back to teach at Calvary,
because I wanted to spend more time with my family,
and I wanted to tell teenagers about Jesus.
I have a 23 year old daughter, Jesse, and a 12 year
old stepson, Liam. My first husband and I divorced
after 14 years of marriage and 5 years later I
remarried a wonderful man, Harry, who loves Jesus.
We've been married for nine years. We belong to a
church, the Sycamore at Midtown, and we have a cell
group that meets in our home on Wednesday night, and I
sing in the praise band that leads worship on Sunday
morning.
