Samuel's Story
Life
After leaving Smiley in 1962, I served 24 years in the Navy. I enlisted to receive training in the electronic technician ratings. My initial duties after electronics school were in the Philippines and a sea tour to Vietnam on the destroyer, USS Turner Joy (DD951). I married Donna Carter in 1966 and we lived in California, Florida, Texas, Ireland, Scotland, Maine and Virginia while in the Navy. We had two children along the way and they gave us five grand children. I also completed college while in the service getting a BBA, majoring in accounting. While in the Navy I was promoted through Master Chief Petty Officer and then received a commission as a Surface Electronics Officer.

completing my final tour as the Ground Electronics Officer at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station and worked in the electric utility and telecommunications industries here in Texas. I am a Texas CPA and a Certified Fraud Examiner. I have been self employed the last two years and I like my boss.
Donna and I like the sea, sun and sand. We previously liked Tortola and St. Lucia for sailing but, we travel to Florida now for that environment since traveling outside the states seems a little scary, lately. We also have a small East Texas tick farm and chigger ranch near Lake Livingston where we go to escape the Houston traffic. I am enjoying life and it really beats the alternative.
