Samuel (Sammy)'s Story
And now, in 2023, I am getting ready for my last chapter -- do we call this the 5th age? Last year I was diagnosed with Early-Stage Alzheimer's disease. It has been a longer journey than that, it was around 2016 when symptoms were appearing, I just didn't know what to make of them. Driving occasionally on the wrong side of the road, getting lost etc. Now I do know what it is, -- I decided to continue with my tradition of being a troublemaker --- you know, like running for cheerleader as the first guy to do so (along with Frank Bertoli) at EPHS. So I have written a play called Dementia Man, An Existential Journey and I perform it (script in hand) with a debut this summer in the Washington DC Fringe Festival.
From 2013: I continue on life's journey. Now in my 4th Age. I just noticed that I updated this page before entering my "third age" Now I am in my fourth age -- a playwright and actor.

ce I feel better. I started as a lawyer in 1970 with Ralph Nader and off and on from 70 to 1986 was in the advocacy world. First Age.
Second Age I created a company in Washington, DC and made a business out of serving as a bridge between corporate clients and the non-profit,advocacy world. My son said I was a minor celebrity in my field, getting a chance to appear on Phil Donahue Show, Today Show, Good Morning America, Face the Nation, and Opera talking about telephone issues. My company treated me well and three years ago I began the transition into "retirement"
Third Age: I've now exited that company and am working as a senior fellow with a non-profit in New York Though we still live in McLean, VA a DC suburb. Check out Intersections International on the web. Back to trying to change the world for the better.
Fourth Age: Actor and Playwright. The Actual Dance is my autobiographical one may show that I wrote and have now performed nearly 80 times including a month in New York in an off-Broadway venue.
