Sandee's Story
Great to see some of you at our 49 1/2 year Reunion. We are hoping to be able to get people together once a
year so we can stay in closer contact. Hope that will happen....where did all the years go? That is the magic
questions.
My Story....
Graduated Summer '62, Married Joe Dorr and had one son Brad Dorr divorced in 1965. End of that chapter as Joe
disappeared.
Went to work for Van Nuys Savings in Panorama City as a teller in 1965, worked in several support positions and in 1969 promoted to a Branch Vice President. I was in Banking for 32 years...loved my job and all the people I was blessed to meet . Great Western Bank bought Van Nuys Savings, then became Washington Mutual and today is
Chase bank My last assignment in Calabasas gave me the privilege of having a client base of many actors and my heros have "always been cowboys"....so I have met most of them, many who remained friends. Left Great Western in 1995...End of that Chapter....
Son has been in Law Enforcement since he was in the Military Police in the Air Force, worked in several agencies and is now a Deputy Sheriff for Madera County heading up the MADNET Program (drug enforcement).
He is 48 and married to a Track Coach and two children.
Married for 30 years to John Connolly. Dave VanGorder introduced us 40 years ago. John is a Contractor and still active...Expand for more
ly working at 75 years old....better him than me!!!! He built my dream home in 2007 and that is my ongoing project...beautiful but far from completed. We live in a very small town in Madera County, in the foothills. Our property is all pastures, it is a beautiful, spiritual place.Have met wonderful people here and managed to keep so many friends from school...my friends here are amazed...as many are born and raised here and coming from the "big city" they can't imagine I have managed to keep in touch over the years with friends as far back as Langdon Street Elementry.....this Chapter is continuing to be written and is truly a blessed time of life...God is
good and with His blessings I hope that the "story" will be a work in progress for as long as He decides......
Hope to keep in contact with many lifelong friends and continue to make new friends along the way......would love
to hear from any of you out there who might remember me.............still in touch with Lorilynn Imbler from grammar
school...Deanna Cummings-Raudman....WHAT HAPPENED TO WOLFE WILSON, JEANNE NUNN, JILL PRIDE ALL
FROM LANGDON STREET SCHOOL?....Was in touch with Jennifer Peak-Barker(also from Langdon St.) until her
death in 2011.
What happened to Dennis Hiller?...........o.k. still writing chapters of the book...so lookin' for those folks...anyone
know?
