Sandra's Story
My husband and I starting writing to each other 3 months before he came home from Vietnam in May, 1967 when we first met. We started dating 6 days later and have been together ever since. We married in 1973. We have two wonderful children, a son and a daughter. They both live in town. We both grew up here and decided to stay. We, also, have a very spoiled German Shepherd named Luna. She was a rescue from
Arkansas. My husband, Joe and I retired in 2013. I quit work to stay home with the kids until they went to school then I went to work part-time and Joe worked for the Public Works in town. In addit...Expand for more
ion to our home, we own a farm in town where we spend a lot of time growing vegetables and keeping busy. Our son lives there with his girlfriend and our daughter lives in my parent's house. I was a little nervous about learning to drive a tractor but now it's a lot fun. I was never the type to sit behind a desk so I keep busy gardening, reading James Patterson's books, crocheting, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, video games, home improvement (painting, replacing floors, electrical work, carpentry, etc.). I am more comfortable with power tools than household appliances. Retirement is great and life is good!!
