Sandra's Story

Sandra Hart 4 days ago Since graduation I have: Graduated from UofW; Received MBA from City U; Received Admin Certification from WWU; Been married and divorced ; Had one female child who also graduated from UofW; Retired as Elementary Principal from Kent School District in 2011; Traveled to: Mexico, Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria, Kelona,Turkey, Kenya, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai, Jerusalem, TelAviv, Hawaii, Jamaica, St Croix, Virgin Islands, Vietnam, Shanghai, Bahamas, Barbados, etc. Domestically, I visited the following states: Alaska, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington, DC. After my initial retirement, 2011, I’ve supervised Student teachers at WSU and substituted as an administrator in Highline SD; As of this year, 2018, I’m TRULY retired, continuing to travel, relax and enjoy this life, for which I’ve worked so hard, and God is allowing me to live! 2019: For the past three years, I’ve been spending lots of time in Honolulu and Vegas with family and friends! I’m looking forward to seeing many classmates at the upcoming reunion on October 26th! For more information, go to the following website: fhs50-2019.com 12/04/20 I feel blessed we were able to celebrate our 50th in 2019. We had no idea Covid was on its way! Though we’ve had a ‘not so good’ 2020, I have faith the best is yet to come - 2021 and beyond... Normally , I would be in Honolulu right now until March or April, but Covid-19 put à pause on many of the fun things we all had planned. Here we are... and life goes on. There is a good reason for all this madness, a reason we may never know... In spite of what all has happened, my wish is that everyone will be well in the end. Stay safe, keep yourselves healthy (physically, emotionally/mentally, and spiritually), and by all means, stay connected to those that have a positive impact on your life! Best to all my classmates of 1969 06/17/2021 Visited Honolulu on May 22 and returned Monday, 06/14! Had a very relaxing time. It was breezy and sunny; rained a little. I cooked meals at home most days, since the most popular restaurants were limiting the number of peeps inside. We waited 2 hours, in line, one night for a dinner table! The wait wasn’t too bad - the restaurant made money off us at the bar😁! Hopefully, when I return in October, the ...Expand for more
state will be fully opened and restaurants will be at 100% capacity…! To Everyone, Take care, stay safe and continue to wear your masks!😁 August 1, 2022: Remembering in high school when I knew Lenny Dupree, Kenny Gant and Cherie Rowe - three very memorable classmates. Within the past few weeks we’ve lost all three., but they will be remembered for their kind and gentle spirits, their love and compassion demonstrated toward other human beings, their positive outlook on life and their academic strengths! May they Rest In Peace… When I mentioned Lenny’s and Kenny’s passing to one of our former teachers, this is the thought she shared: “ Death reminds us each day of the importance of living each moment...tomorrow is not promised.” - Mrs. Malver je Haynes Business Education November 23, 2022: To Classmates of 1969: HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL!! Though this is the time of year we generally enjoy the “modern” Thanksgiving Celebration, I’m so happy many of us don’t wait until Thanksgiving to be thankful. GRATITUDE is MY attitude everyday… Let it be yours! I am so grateful to have reconnected to many classmates! Again, HAPPY THANKSGIVING ! 12/17/22 I’m very proud of having been a member of Franklin High School’s Alumni Association and Foundation since 2020! I learned a lot and enjoyed my years while at FHS. My experiences there laid the foundation for my successful career as a Classroom Teacher, School Administrator, Field Supervisor for Student Teachers through WSU, and Mentor to beginning teachers. Though I have given a lot back to society, I have, recently begun to give more, specifically to my high school, FHS Quakers! I’m choosing to support my high school by donating to the Quakers scholarship fund through the FHS Alumni Association and Foundation, because it’s not all about me… What a fulfilling experiences….. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO FHS Class of ‘69 July 28, 2023: As I sit here in the University of Washington Medical Center’s hospital room with a dear friend as they go through a dialysis, I can’t help but think about how delicate and precious life is… My friend was blessed with a new kidney on May 31 (almost 2 months ago), but is facing a few challenges trying to get the kidney fully operable. Please join me in prayer for this precious kidney to ‘wake up’ and do a good deed for my friend… - And So It Shall Be… Blessings to you all, Sandra (Sandi) Hart
