Sandra's Story
September 2011: We arrived in Singapore to live with my husband Raye's son Erric and his wife Ping and our two 8 month old grandsons, Kevin and Darren. Getting to know the new grandsons is wonderful. We'll be living here a year and a half to help with the boys.
April 2010 - July 2011: spent the year in Seattle, my husband captained the 65 foot schooner taking out non-profit groups for free. He also got to marry a couple on the schooner, which was great. I crewed on a 125 steam powered ferry, the Virginia V. I got helm time on the ship when I crewed, so I was in heaven! With our new venture I will not be able to crew at this level anymore due to age, etc. So that was my last active seamanship!
April 2010: My husband, Capt Raye Newmen, and I just sold ...Expand for more
our 60 foot, 90 ton, 1949 North Sea Trawler named "Bay Wyke" and are moving north from San Francisco. We are getting settled in Seattle, WA, our previous home of 8 years. Since we have been 3 years gone, there are a lot of new things to see and do here. We will be living on the 65 foot Schooner Mallory Todd (shown in the picture) for the summer. We will be live-aboard Captain and Crew and will be taking out over 100 non-profit cruises on Lake Union and Lake Washington, as well as some charters, for the owner.
