Sandra's Story

In high school I had few close friends, I had a great home life ( 5 brothers and 0 sisters ) , and a great mother, so I focused my energy there. I also had a boyfriend at the time and he went to a different high school, so like many young girls, I hung out with him after school, and that being said, it didn't leave me much time for high school friends. I'm hoping this site will allow me to re-connect with past friends, and new friends. I married 1 year out of high school, and not to the guy I was dating in high school LOL ( isn't that the way it usually goes?), and we started a family right away. We had a daughter, and then a couple of years later we had a son. I was a stay at home mother for most of their upbringing, except for a few small jobs here and there. I then decided to go back to school to become a nurse and graduated in 1992. Alot happened in just a few short years. I had always lived in Modesto, and in the same house with my family ( 17 years ), and not far from the house I grew up in ( where my mother resided ) , and that year my mother died ( we were extreemly close ), so my husband and I decided to move to the c...Expand for more
ountry ( someplace he had always wanted to go back to), and we found a place in Turlock, both changed jobs, and kids changed schools. I think the move was good for us, and I was closer to my mom, as she was buried in Hilmar ( a little town not far from our new place ), so everything was going good. My daughter was married, and I had grandchildren, and my son moved out and was on his own, we lived there for 13 years, and then the city decided to put housing in on our property, so we moved again. This time to the west side. We now live in the town of Crows Landing, and have been there for almost 3 years. It's centered between Newman and Patterson--6 miles either way. We live in the country again, and we love it. I no longer work, as I have arthritis in the base of my thumbs that prevents me from doing repetitive movements with my hands ( I have to take things more slowly now ), but most days I get along fine. I thought it would be fun to re-connect with friends, so I joined this site. So, if you share some of the same interests as I do ( look at my Q & A ) or just want to be a friend -- write and maybe we can get re-aquainted.
