Sandra's Story
Update: 2012
I am now working during deer season at my daughter's business, "B&D Acres Deer & Hog Processing outside of Lovelady, Texas. I love it! I have to admit that it is not what I had in mind for retirement. :o) I have met so many people and I have learned to really appreciate the country. I am always busy & on the go. The shop gets me out and gives Ken time away from my jibber. Ken & I are so very, very happy here.
My ancestors are from this area, Pennington & Groveton & I am related to 1/4 of the population here.
I look forward to all the high school reunions. It is one of the highlights in my life.
My world is located in Lovelady, Texas where I have retired with my husband Ken. We hunt, fish and raise Boer Goats in the beautiful Pineywoods of East Texas. Visit our web site: ksggboergoats.com. Our beautiful Boer Goats are fun & keeps us very busy....Expand for more
I have two children (1 boy & 1 girl), six grandchildren (3 boys & 3 girls), four great grandchildren (2 boys & 2 girls).
I retired with Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. as Administrative Service Coordinator when I was 55 and ended my business career at BASF in 2005.
Life has been great for me (not like I planned) but great.
I also, bake, sew, knit, crochet and create miscellaneous crafts that I decide to try. My pom (dog, Kendra) keeps me company when I am in the house and traveling in the truck. Simba (Pom) died in 2011 & I still grieve for him. I am always on the go doing things I like. Not only do I work with my daughter Deborah Kay, we shop together. Canton is one of our favorite shopping spots. Rick is still in Lake Jackson working at BASF.
I love people and visitors and would love to have everyone come visit me.
Come on out!
