Sandra's Story

Life Okay well it's like this, from kindergarten to the first part of my 3rd grade year I attend Sunnyside Elementary over in Strathmore, CA. and I was there under the name of Sandra Taylor. Then my older sister and younger brother and I got adopted and my name changed to Sandra Navarrette and we moved to Woodlake, CA where I attended school for the second part of my 3rd grade year to 9th grade. The summer after 9th grade my parents moved us to Visalia where I attended Redwood High School for my Sophomore and Junior years. I ended up living in Oak Harbor, Washington for my senior year and graduation year was 1978 and shortly after the end of my senior year I moved back to California. In 1994 I got married, in 1989 I had my first child, a son, Roscoe. We ended up divorced and in 1992 my son and I packed up and moved to Hays, Kansas, which is where my brother and his family were living at the time. We stayed with them until we got settled in our own place in Palco, Kansas...an even smaller town than Hays was! In 1993 my brother and his family moved back to California and in 1994 I met my current husband and after a whirlwind romance we got married in 1994! My husband and son grew to love each other and after 2 years of marriage we added to our happy family....in 1997 and 1999 two daughters, Topanga and Kamillia (Kami). My husband worked as an Agricultural Inspector for the State of Kansas in the Meat and Poultry division. After our first trip out this way to visit in1996 my husband fell in love with Cal...Expand for more
ifornia and wanted to move here....I on the other hand loved the slow pace of living in the "country" and so we stayed in Kansas. We came out here for Christmas in 2004 and my husband put in for a job at the company my brother worked for and in March of 2005 he came out here to start working and the kids and I stayed in Kansas until the end of the school year and then the 4 of us packed up and moved out here also. Once again we stayed with my brother and his current wife until we got on our feet. We are now living in Porterville, CA and are trying to get things in order so that we can get moved and live at the Tule River Indian Reservation, which is just East of Porterville, and where I have lots of family. My son will be 18 in March, my youngest daughter will be 8 in March and my oldest daughter will be 10 in May. I sometimes threaten to move back to Kansas but the kids and my husband tell me that if I do I will have to go by myself and they will just come out there and visit me so I stay here also!! My only stipulation is that they need to get me moved back in the "country"! For those of you that remember me, I would love to catch-up and for those of you that remember the girls I hung around with in Woodlake, I found Shirley Banuelos and I know where Rhonda Moore is but I would love any information that you could give me about Ophelia Esquivel. From Redwood I would love to find out where Maria Chapa is...I know that a long time ago she married Ruben De LaRosa but would like to know where she is now.
