Hello Saints of '70!
Yes, I was a brain in high school, quiet and conservative. So no surprise, I am a Republican. I am married to a wonderful guy, David Yates. We have an 18 year old son, Shawn. My husband has 2 older sons with 3 grandkids, age 10, 8 and 8 mos.
Careerwise, I am a telecommunications engineer. As with all of you, I'm hoping to retire someday in the not too distant future. There is light at the end of the tunnel now!
Highlights from the last 40 years-- 3-week trip to Africa where my husband and I worked in a Missionary hospital, seeing the effects of AIDS and poverty on the people. It was an eye-opener, but also a positive experience as I learned that it's important...Expand for more
to "give a cup of water" in the Lord's Name. Other experiences-- wonderful trips to Europe, Israel, Mexico and various parts all over the USA. Yes, we like to travel.
As with all of you, I'm sure you've learned many life-lessons over the years. I wish I could say I've arrived at being prefectly mature and all put together, but I still am a work in progress. Thank the Lord for a Savior, Jesus!
Yes, I am one of those right-wing Christians. It happened to me just before I graduated from college at Western Washington U. And I have been going strong ever since. Praise the Lord!
