Sandra's Story

Life Well, I moved, again! This time it was for a good reason...to be close to our Kids AND OUR GRANDSON!! And in April, we'll have a little girl to watch grow up! (We've named her Hannah, but my son tells me her name won't be Hannah! We'll see...) Anyhow, we moved from Arizona to North Carolina, and the difference in weather is just this year getting to us...we can feel the difference when we go outside to go to an appointment. This move kind of happened without me. I was in a Health Care Center because I couldn't swallow, anything, and I had lost my ability to walk and talk. (Yeah, me not being able to talk.) Anyhow, my husband, Ron, managed to get me and our whole house in Arizona packed up and moved here. Now, there were some problems with stuff from the house getting packed up, but my daughter, Sue, was there and managed to get my stamps and stuff packed, so I have them. My religious books weren't so lucky; nor were ALL of my cookbooks. They just got thrown away, in the garbage can. I really wish I had known he was gonna do that, because SOMEONE would have saved them for m...Expand for more
e and sent them to me after we got situated in our house. Oh well, I have lots of things I can purchase now. And the cooking isn't going that well at all. When I can stay standiing for longer than a cople of minutes, THEN I'll be able to cook. I'm now going to a REAL speach therapist, who has given me all different kinds of mouth/lip/tongue exercises so I can learn to talk again. I do pretty good in the mornings, but then the afternoon rolls around, and I have to work very hard just to be understood. So, now my goal is to be able to speak just as well in the afternoon as I can in the mornings. My next goal is to be abe to sing well enough to sing to my congregation on Christmas Eve. That's something that I miss doing now. But I'll make it! And everything will be fine and dandy. I've been at this writing for quite a while, and I'm getting tired. I've tried to catch the mistakes, and correct them, but I'm sure there are a few I've not gotten. I'm sure you'll forgive me because my typing isn't so good right now...at least I didn't me mistakes when I was typing for the YEARBOOK!
