Sandra's Story
Life
I moved to Redding CA to finish high school and then to San Jose where I started college at San Jose State. I met and married my husband in San Jose and then we moved to his home state of Mississippi in Oxford. I finished college in Oxford at the University of Mississippi with a BSW in Social Work and then went on to get a Masters in Educational Psychology, with an emphasis on Community Counseling, after 3500 supervised hours as a therapist I am now a National Certified Community Counselor. ard and worked for the local Rape Crisis Center, then I worked at a community mental health agency for three years, then I started my own non-profit business, wrote a grant, was funded and worked with at-risk youth for a year. I am currently disabled but hope to return to work soon. I divorced my husband after 18 years and we have a daughter who is 18 years old and will be married next year to her boyfriend of 3 years. I moved to Memphis, TN because it's a much bigger place than Oxford, MS and there's more to do and see.
