Sandra's Story

I graduated from UNC-G, then married my high school sweetheart, Tony, and we have 3 perfect children, 3 wonderful in-laws and 3 exceptional grandsons, one from each child. (In the picture, our children are seated--the woman in the blue blouse is Tony, Jr's wife. [2011 update--now 5 grandsons and one grandaughter.) I followed Tony with the Army for 23 years, and we retired in Florida. Before children I taught high school English, and then was blessed to stay home with the kids for about nine years. I went back to work as an executive admini...Expand for more
strative assistant for nearly 20 years. In 2003 Tony and I sold everything--house, 2 cars, furniture--sailed away into the sunset, and spent 4 years cruising, along the East Coast to the top of the Chesapeake Bay, all the way down through the Caribbean Islands to Trinidad and Tobago, into Venezuela for a few days, then home again. We are now back in Tampa/St Petersburg, living on the sailboat, where Tony is working as a military contractor to build up the cruising kitty so we can leave again.
