Sandra's Story
Life
My Spouse
Tom and I met at Ames Elementary School in St. Louis in the fifth grade (1966). We went our separate ways, married other people (he has two sons from his first marriage) and met back up in 1978 and married in 1979 and been together ever since. Tom is a Vietnam Veteran with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and was medically retired from service in 1992.
My Kid
We have a twenty-nine year old daughter, Tracey. She's has a Master's Degree in Sociology and is a college instructor. In November 2006 she was honored at the annual American Society of Criminology Conference in Los Angeles for The Graduate Student Paper of the Year Award. een a good kid and I consider myself quite lucky to have had such an ambitious child. A bit opinionated, but ambitious.
My Pets
I have a Poodle, Sammy and a 130+ lb. Rott that's a big baby. And then there's Tracey's cat, Melia, who thinks she's the Queen!
My Job
I quit my job at Walmart to go to college, my dream since high school. Better late than never. And believe me, it wasn't an easy task. Things just don't come as naturally as they once did. And I still can't decide what I want to be when I grow up. (I switched majors midstream.)
For the past couple of years I've been playing homemaker for the first time in my life and I actually like it more than I thought I would. Got a lot accomplished in our home, like building the sunroom I've always wanted.
