Life
While I miss the Vero Beach of my memory (and how it has changed!), I sure would like some of that sunshine and ocean breeze.
There is ice and snow outside right now, and a beautiful vista of rolling hills and mountains. Seasons! AND COLD!! There is not a beach to walk, or a sunrise of glorious colors over the ocean, or guaranteed sunshine almost every day when you wake up. Is there any place as naturally beautiful as that city on the water?
So how come I'm sitting in the mountains of North Carolina?
Well - a sister living in Asheville was the draw, then I bought a farm just north of there. I built a beautiful new home - and surprise, my son and his wife decided to move here as well!
I now have a two new men in my life - a 6 year old grandson, Aeden, and his younger brother at 2 years, August. They and their folks live a lifestyle different than mine- hiking, biking, vegetarian, but it is really neat to meet in the middle to share life living in the same town.
My Yorkies now take 2nd place, but they still don't hesitate to be a part of the party.

chool, back to Vero for the next 18 years, with my son through school, politics and my own business.
Then it was off to Tampa and a new paid for financial education, as a Financial Consultant for Shearson Lehman Brothers - later for MONY, with a focus on financial planning. It was a wonderful career even with the fact of a serious auto accident with a Mack Truck (much better to let any Mack Truck have the space!) I've become disabled but since I am an expert in audience, that hasn't slowed me down! :-)
The growth in the mountains here seems like the growth was in Vero back in the 60's. Three sides of my farm have been built out by big beautiful homes.
Who knew computers would be here to connect us from then to now - I admit I never imagined any reality like Dick Tracy watches or Skypes - Maybe we ought to try a combined class photo.... See you at the reunion, Sandi
I always wanted to be a Public Speaker when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a weird idea. As it turns out, they were surprised, because I already talked almost all the time, so I didn't have far to go. .
