Sandra's Story

Life I left Bell High to get married in 2000 after having completed a Fulbright teaching exchange in Mexico and in Santiago, Chile. I then lived in Woodland California and taught ELD at Woodland High School near Sacramento. We lived in the lovely town of Winters, a small town near Davis. My husband, Blake was then based in the air force reserves at Travis AFB. Anyhow, he began working at Continental airlines. He chose Guam as his home base a year or so later and we moved to Guam. We had a small house right on the Indian Sea there. It was beautiful. When I was expecting ...Expand for more
my first child I decided to come back to the mainland to have the baby as epidurals were not common there. I taught briefly at Bell then and had the baby, Kip, in '01. I was preparing to go back to Guam when 9/11 occured and we ended up having to leave our island paradise. My husband found a training position at the Navy base in Corpus Christi, I was pregnant with my second boy (Jack) and we lived in Corpus for two years . My husband is back with Continental again and we are raising our boys in San Antonio. I think about teaching again, but am very busy with young children.
