Sandy's Story
I got married right out of HS to a very jealous/ugly (in many ways) man. I was barefoot and pregnant for many years. He was mean, loud, bad manners, bad temper, bad had language, he was very insecure and did not truset me alone with anyone!
I finally had enough and left him. Unforntualtely my mom got sick right around the time of this awful divorce, he dragged the children in the middle of it - trying to get me to drop everything and stay with this awful husband, with all his bad manners etc, plus he was lazy and never worked.
I went to school part time and started working at the California School for the Deaf in 1993. I con't to work and go to school even when I became a counselor for the students in the Student Life Division (1996). I planned to go on and transfer to Cal State for my BA and SF for my...Expand for more
MA and teaching Cred. for the Deaf when my migraines became so bad I had to drop school and my dreams of becoming a teacher here. The migraines were so debilitating that I had no chose but to quit school and do all I could to keep my job. I transfered back to an office job, where I work with an all-deaf-staff except my boss - I've been his assistant for 10 years now.
I am remarried to a wonderful man who is opposite in every way possible from my first husband. He is 10 years older but promised he would live to be 90. I went back to my maiden name, Sandy Corey. I have an older sister who graduated in 1967, Colleen Corey ran for Miss South San Francisco in her day. She was named "Best in a swim suit". She never married but is still very beautiful (it runs in the Corey family -smile) LOL - really smile!!
