Sandy's Story
After high school I worked for a couple of years at O'hare Field and then moved to Denver, CO. Married in 70, divorced in 72, I hitch-hiked the country for several months and returned and settled in Manitou Springs, CO. Moved back to Palatine, IL in 77 and worked full time for an HVAC company. In 1984 I remarried and began working with my husband building our drywall contracting business. We settled in central WI in 88 and are still in the same place. We have 3 children (stepchildren to me, but I love them as my own), 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. These are the great joys of my life next to my wonderful husband Tony, and my first love, the one, true, living God.

was instrumental in bringing me to a place of removing the alcohol factor from my life. When alcohol was gone, drugs had no hold on me and I realized that God had not abandoned me during those years. It was I who had moved away from Him. Redemption and grace have been my true recovery. My problem was neither drugs nor alchohol, but my own moment by moment decisions which took me down a hard and unnecessary road making it seem that I had no choices.
Life is not easy but the greatest joy is knowing God personally and knowing that He loves us without measure and has a plan for our lives. Surrendering to Him and following Him have been the ultimate fulfillment in life. I continue to work with others who are struggling in their walk and remain available to listen and share with anyone who has questions.
