Sandy's Story
Life
Well here goes
After I did not get into Smittie's Alma Mater in Rochester New York for Phys Ed I went straight to work for Bach and Company at 40 Wall street.
Wall street was exciting and looking back I should have stayed in that all male's world! I could have learned alot and made a ton of money.
After taking the long way around (how many of us did that?)
I chose the Nursing field, graduating from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY
I stayed in New York working as an Rn in the Rockland, Westchester area of New York until 1986
then moved to Baltimore, Md. where I got to work for Johns Hopkins Hospital during the early years of the HIV epidemic. Eventually I joined the Hospice movement where I really found my calling.
In 2004 I moved North to Pa. near (King of Prussia area)
and started my third life.
I've combined my love of animals (No surprise there) and photography to start an art gallery of sorts.
I enjoy the company of my nearby Sisters, my 2 cats, back yard birding, ballroom dancing, a good movie (actually mo...Expand for more
vies have always been a passion) and I am big Foodie!
All who knew me might be surprized to know that I did not stay an exercise hound.
I did enjoy down hill sking, tennis, biking, dancing and of course traveling !
My love of animals and science (the nature room at JJ was my refuge) and has never left me. Anyone remember the snake in the cafeteria? (always escaping the nature room!)
Since I only lived in Park Slope for about 5 years I did not keep up with many people after school. I did keep in touch with one girl Judy Zorsch who became a life long friend!
I did keep in touch with Smitty for years after and she was always a hoot.. There was no one on this earth like her...before or after!
I have one beautiful Daugher living in Vermont.
I now find myself as I once was a single sassy gal who still has compassion for the whole animal kingdom and the less fortunate !
I hope this answers questions some might have to my life's journey and I hope to hear all about some of your journey's as well.
Warm wishes
