Sara's Story

Life Hello everyone! I am living in Columbia again after moving around a bit over the years. I've lived in Charleston, Seattle, and Gainesville. It's nice to be back in Columbia though. I married Fred Parsons, a man I dated for a number of years. He is from Maryland and came to South Carolina to attend USC. We're happy and enjoying the adventure of getting married and buying a new home. We now have a little girl, Emma Ann. She was born on Christmas Eve. She is such a gift to us. I am a teacher and have taught elementary school for over ten years. Since our move back to Columbia, I am trying out middle school. I am teaching 6th grade. ge of Charleston. I then moved to Seattle, Washington and began teaching school there. I continued taking classes at the University of Washington towards my masters. After a year of nothing but RAIN, I decided to come back south. I finished my masters at the College of Charleston and found a job teaching at Satchel Ford Elementary. I loved it there. Next I decided to go for National Board Certification in elementary education. That allows you to teach in any state and receive a pay raise as you would with another degree. It involved a lot of writing and was a lot like a thesis. I passed and now teach in Florida. College I attended the University of South Carolina and graduated with a BA in elementary education. I received a masters degree from the College of Charleston. I have 30 additional hours towards a doctorate. I hope to complete my doctorate at the University of Florida.
