Sarah's Story
Life - Continues to be exciting as ever. Have only returned to Ottawa a handful of times and most recently for an all too brief visit with old friends, Ian, Norm, Paul, and Al. It was great to see them all and I look forward to able to return one day.
I got married last summer to the love of my life, Perry. He is a great man who is a born and raised Vancouver Island man. We've been together for over 7 years now. Between us we have 4 kids, 2 daughters-in-law, and 3 grand kids. My son, Andrew (28) lives with his girlfriend in Langford just outside of Victoria and works at Catalyst Paper in Crofton and my daughter, Hannah (21) lives with her boyfriend in Smithers, BC. They were born on the same day, December 12, only seven years apart. They are wonderful kids and I love being their mom. I love living in this small community because everyone knows everyone and it's such a positive place to be!
My mom, Maureen, lives close by in Qualicum Beach. My dad, Don, passed away in 2001 and my mom has been busy rebuilding her life over the past 17 years. She is very involved in lawn bowling in the summer and with spending her winters in Mexico in a little town called Ajijic. There she has discovered the ukelele and volunteering with ladies who are in prison.

kids I billeted - 3 from the local Junior B hockey team - Brynley is 30 (in September) and Jadon, also 30, is from Claresom, Alberta. Also a wonderful kind soul with a huge personality. I did have another one living with me at the beginning of the season, Jacob, but he returned home to Ankorage, Alaska.
My Pets - We adopted a rescue Great Pyrenees who we call Bella has just recently passed away. We had her for almost 3 years and she was the greatest dog ever. We lost our beloved fur baby, "Tucker" in April 2013. He was a Maltese with lots of spunk. Our remaining fur baby is our cat named "Ruby".
We rescued a new pup in January. He was 11 weeks old and is now 2 years old. His mom was a German Shepherd and who know who dad was. We named him Boomer. He's a good boy and smart.
Work - I am working as a Program Assistant at the Canadian Food Inspection Agency. Been here 12 years now.
School - I had a great time at Nepean HS. I had a fantastic group of friends and I miss them all and think of them often. We had some really great times in Matt's basement and driving around in Norm's car. Hope all of the gang is well and hope to hear from you all one day.
