Sarah's Story
I was born in Stringtown, Atoka County, Oklahoma in 1941. My sister, Dorothy, and my brother, Ronny, were also born in Atoka County, Oklahoma. Mother and Daddy moved our family to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma when I was in the fourth grade. I lived in Del City Oklahoma approximately 10 years.
In 1958 I married a student from Del City High School and we moved to Anchorage Alaska while he was serving in the U.S. Army. We divorced in 1960.
Without a high school education and diploma it was difficult to obtain a good paying job. I worked as a waitress and returned to Del City High School graduating in 1962. Later, I attended Central State College obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education and Library Science in 1966 and a Master of Science Degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas in 1990. My profession was in the field of Records Management. After several years in the profession, I obtained the designation of Certified Records Manager from the Institute of Certified Records Management.
One of Sarah's favorite quotes is: "Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand b...Expand for more

More about Sarah: "I am happily married to Don and we have a great family including four sons, three daughters-in-law, eight grandchildren, four dogs, AND a host of nieces and nephews. Both of us are retired, which allows us to provide assistance to my Dad and Don's Mom since their spouses are deceased.
We both enjoy fishing and raising a garden. While I enjoy genealogy research and raising trees, Don enjoys rebuilding old tractors.
Most Interesting Jobs I have had:
I worked for NASA in the Lunar Receiving Lab before the spaceship landed on the moon. I maintained information on all of the scientists who would be evaluating the samples of rocks brought back to earth.
I worked at the Superconducting Super Collider (that big hole and 50 mile ring that was 100 feet under the ground). It was sponsored by the Department of Energy but was shut down by President George Bush two years after it was begun. What a shame to have it shut down!
I lived in Anchorage Alaska for 2 1/2 years. The Arora Borealis and the Glaciers are awesome.".
