Sarah's Story
After graduating from Manual I attended Illinois State University and obtained a B.S. in business education. I taught for awhile in Peoria and then moved to California and got married. I worked for several years in school systems in the Orange County area and in Coalinga.
From Coalinga we moved to Albany, Oregon, in the beautiful Willamette Valley (about 65 miles from Portland, beaches, and the mountains). Here I worked in the school system before going to work for the railroad and then later for the City of Albany.
I retired from the City of Albany Parks & Recreation Department as Adm...Expand for more
inistrative Services Supervisor after almost 24 years with the City. During that time my husband and I divorced after nearly 28 years of marriage.
My two sons have married and given me three beautiful grandchildren (a grandson aged 8 1/2 and two granddaughter who will be 8 and 2 in February 2010). These little people brighten my life and keep me young (and worn out).
I love to garden and devote a lot of time doing charitable work as a member of the Soroptimist club. My favorite trip was a four-day sailing adventure in the San Juans aboard the USS Adventuress, a 102-foot sailing ship.
