Saverio's Story
My Story
BAR in Tylerdale, a ¿suburb¿ of Washington PA. I grew up in what started out as a close knit neighborhood at 901 Jefferson Ave. I went to a ¿preschool¿ in the West End at the Broad Street Baptist Church. First grade thru 7th was at Clark School, 2 blocks west of my home, at the corner of Maple St and Jefferson Ave. The higher grades were housed in the newer building at the corner of Maple and Allison. I remember the Good News Club met at the Allison Ave Baptist Church.
I then went to Washington High School and graduated in 1967. My dad insisted I go to Kiski Prep school the summer before I started W & J that fall. I lasted 2.5 years at W & J. Academically dismissed because I majored in ping-pong, bowling, and pinochle., I transferred to West Virginia Wesleyan and brought my grades up. Then I applied to Pitt Pharmacy school. I graduated in 1975 and have enjoyed my profession ever since.
I worked for a while at the McKeesport Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy. I the took a position (quite briefly) at a small pharmacy in Donora PA. before moving to York, PA whe...Expand for more
re I worked for Revco Drug Stors for 15 years
I moved to Juniata County in 1990, taking a position at TLC Pharmacy(Operated by the Lewistown Hospital Foundation). I remained with them for 10 years.
In May of 2000 I joined Beward Pharmacy (in the same town) and remained with them for 7 years.
While in York, I developed a great interest in computers. Eventually, after the move to Juniata County I called my hobby-cum-sideline Blue Juniata Consulting I repair and troubleshoot computers and set up office and home networks. Operating systems worked on are Unix (SCO Open Server), Linux, and Windows platforms. Since the release of VISTA, I have all but left windows and switched to UBUNTU.
I have Lionel "O" gauge trains that I am aching to set up when the kids finally get all their junk out of my basement and I finally can build a table.
Before the kids all moved out and got lives of their own, my family and I used to sing together at churches and community functions. We were known as the Marasco Family Singers.
Currently I attend Cedar Grove Bretherin In Christ Church.
