Keith's Story
Hi Guys----June 18th, 2017----See me on FaceBook too. For one thing I graduated Wm. S. Hart High/Bowman Continuation School...Not Haddon Ave. Elementary. Classmates.com is working on this, or so they say.....
Well, my Parents sold that house at 13432 Terra Bella St, and moved to Sylmar in '70. 14815 Bledsoe St. east of Glenoaks Blvd. Then on to Saugus, near Castaic, in '71. (remember the earthquake?) I hated High School. I bounced around Sylmar, (no pun intended), Poly, San Fernando, Wm.S.Hart, and Bowman. I even tried up north, living with my Granny Georgia in the little town of (pop. 200)
Naples, Idaho, near Bonners Ferry, Idaho. I came back w/drivers license, and Parents bought me a lime green '66 GTO for staying in school!..yeah, right...I married Jody Nelson, in '72 (Canyon High), and we divorced in '73. I've run around for the last 44 yrs, bar tending, route driver, bar tending, line driver, and now a school bus driver. I crashed a KZ900 in '77 Burbank & Coldwater Cyn, laid up 6 mos., (wear y...Expand for more
our helmet!) Started working for FedEx in Burbank in '77, and transferred to San Francisco in '80, then to Marin County, Sausalito Ca., in '82. Moved here to Medicine Lodge, Ks. from California, to Retire, I lived in Prescott AZ., for 15 yrs. Beautiful town, tall pines, 5,280 foot elevation, then moving back to Palmdale California, to care for my Dad.
There's not much happening in Medicine Lodge, Ks, but I love it here. People are hometown friendly and REAL, and enjoying my semi-retirement.
I'm a full time transportation aide/substitute school bus driver, grades K-12, also activity driver, and I'm a big fan of both High and Middle schools, football, baseball, and basketball games. I was real close to Greensburg Tornado, 50 miles as the crow flies. So tragic and destructive. I can't believe that it's been over 9 years since that deadly F-5 hit in Greensburg Ks.....Life is good and quiet and peaceful. :)
Write if you get a chance,
Keith Schmidt
