Scott's Story
Here's my story: Married in 1983. Cyndy and I and raised 3 sons. AJ, Zachary and Vaughn. Thanks to my beautiful wife, each have grown to be a better man than I ever was or could hope to be. I retired from Illinois Bell/Ameritech/AT&T on February 17th, 2012 after working for almost 33 years as a cable repairman/lineman/splicer in the Aurora and Ottawa areas. Outside all day, every day. Some days nice, others not so nice. On February 18th the wife says "This isn't working. You need to find something else to do because every time I turn around you're standing there". when I tell that story. Anyway, after about a month of being retired, I went to work for a company called G4S. After a year there, in June of 2013, I was fortunate enough to get hired as a Senior Design Engineer with Commonwealth Edison and have been there ever since. Maybe someday I'll try retiring again. I'm just happy that my days of working outside in crappy weather are over.
We have 4 wonderful grandsons. 12, 10, 6 and 1 1/2 years old. They call me "Gompa". That's the coolest feeling ever. AJ, Jen and the boys live close by and we get to spend a lot of time with them.
