Karen's Story
Karen is from Olympia Fields, Illinois. She is single. Her schools include Marian Catholic High School. She later attended DePaul University.
Karen's interests include Chicago Bears, golf golf golf, Cubbies, Notre Dame, Chicago Bulls,Marquette. Ernie Banks,Walter Payton,Mike Ditka, Robbie Gould, Diana Nyad. Music she likes includes Mike Love, Oldies, Eagles. Books she likes include History, Mysteries, Travel. Movies she likes include Dirty Dancing, Madea, Caddyshack. TV shows she likes include Major Crimes, NY Med, Diners.
One of Karen's favorite quotes is:Failure is refusing to get up when you have fallen, and trying again. I found this to be true after my heart attack, and several minor strokes. The last six years have been a test of my faith, my courage, my being. If you have your faith, your family, children, and now 4 beautiful graandchildren, I truly believe youcan just about overcome anything thrown in your path. I am still healing, I am not the Karen Scott I know, the Karen Scott I want to BE again, but I damn well am kicking butt and taking names to get back there!!
I have the most loving, supportive and beautiful brothers and sisters anyone could be blessed with, and they have been with me and for me every step of this unbelievable journey. I know many of you know Ed, Barb, Debbie,& the "Boys" Kevin and Terry. And of course, my very own Guardian Angel in heaven, our sweet, beautiful sister Susan.
I saved the three most special angels in my life, the ones I was blessed...Expand for more
with and who have been by my side , and call me that special name of "Mom". my oldest,my daughter Kimberly, and my two boys, Michael and Bryan. It is not easy for children to see their parent as they saw me, sometimes the looks on their faces, I felt so so badly for them. They are so scared, and afraid. They were so encouraging, so loving, bringing me to their home to heal.(you WILL go home when you are better, right mom?lol) I was very fortunate that the damage from the heart attack and the strokes was not severe, the problems they found due to those evets have been the long lasting issues that led to surgeries, aneuryms and the rest. God knew what he was doing when He blessed me with my three beautiful, loving, giving children. They have been my rocks.
Last but not least, we have the 4 widgets!! As busy as they were with my unexpected travails, they managed to give me Charles Robert, Alexander Colin,Matthew Michael and last The PRINCESS Alexandra Kathy :)) If for no other reason, I will be on the mend and on the go just to see their smiles and faces! As we have all discovered, we should have had the grandchildren first! LOL
I was all set to attend our 45th reunion this pst Octtober, even being a long distance member of the committee. Unfortunately, it did not work out. However, 50th Reunion, I intend to kick your ever lovin Ass!!!!
I hope this finds everyone kicking the hell out of life! Remember, the 60's are the new 40's:)) Do it!
