Scott's Story

Updated 4-25-2013 Life Two daughters, one grand daughter, and a grandson born in July 2008! Life is possible due to my great wife who is my rock - and has a new kidney that I was able to donate through a match that was one in a million. One year as of May 21, 2013 I also have a new "rescue dog" that was abused early in life and is now spoiled. Second in ten years. These are the important things in life. Teaching machine shop, CAD/CAM, pre engineering for 25 years now. Dropped all my side businesses to be an Industrial Trainer for Whelen Engineering, doing so since January 2012, CNC machining and now sheet metal. Highest end machinery in the business, all new. Twenty hours a week. Whelen makes emergency systems and light bars for Police Cars. Pays good, love the company, may be my next career. Oldet Daughter graduates from Wagner College in NYC this May. Still doing a bit of engineering for people and the company I work for on the side. No longer in politics, takes time away from golf. Earned a Masters Degree from Antioch New England, 2007, not too old to learn, still do engineering course work now and then to keep up on things, now learning light systems. In 1982 I learned a few great secrets in life that I wish I had learned in HS. The first, don't take yourself seriously. The second is to simply listen to others and what they REALLY have to say about things constructively - refining out the com...Expand for more
plaints and the "personal jabs". The third was a bit personal, quit being a jerk to others, instead, give to others. My final lesson was to quit letting others define me by their opinions and instead work to use the gifts given to be my best and to help others. AND try not to let work get in the way of a daily golf game during the spring, summer and fall. I Love where I am now, it is what FC was in 1975, full of hope, and still "small town" enough to be quaint. There are 4 months of extreme winter, one month of deep heat, and seven months of the best weather and activities one could ever ask for. New England and New Hampshire in the fall is great, and for two weeks in October, I get to see the reason I really moved here and get to enjoy nature at its absolute best. I miss FC, but with all I have now, I an sure of where home is. It would be interesting to find other FCHS people who are "out east". There is a question on this form that says "How would you wish your friends would remember you?". I surely would not want to be remembered as I was in HS, really wanted to go to the class reunion(s) (now plural as I have missed all but the first), but could not. I am not sure how I would want to be remembered, but was sure I wanted to meet those I never really got to know well in HS to get to know the fine people I went to HS with and see how well they turned out. This is my hope five to ten years from now.
