Scott's Story
Joined the Air Force right out of high school and took part in Desert Storm. After the conflict in Iraq we came back to base and continued are service duties. In the process on a weekend I was seriously head injured in a motorcycle accident. I sustained a head injury that left me in a coma for 4 months. It took about 10 years to get about 95% better. Of course the Air Force released me but with 100% support, which was my saving grace.
Then I got involved in home construction for about 10 years with a best friend of mine from a church I was a member in. The church was named Good Shepherd Comm. Church, Boring...Expand for more
Oregon. While working construction I also was volunteering at the Portland VA(veterans administration). This was my way of continuing my service to America.
Now I live in Roseburg, Oregon where my ex-wife and I had a little boy. Even thowe I’m divorced from my exwife I think it’s important I remain in Roseburg to be with my boy as much as possible. He really enjoys being with me as much as possible.
I still work for the VA here in Roseburg and conditions to my job look to be getting better. The VA is a huge part of my recoupperation from the head injury I sustained. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
