Scott's Story
Life
Born in 1970 in Virgina, I completed school in Miami in 1988. I spent 1 year in Texas, 2 years at UGA, and graduated from Clayton State with a B. MUS. After one year of freelanceing and teaching private lessons in Atlanta, I attended VSU and graduated with a M. MUS ED. I taught pre-k through 12th grade for one year and then joined the USMC Band in Albany. I met my wife, we had our first daughter, I left the Marine Corps and went back to teaching. ...Expand for more
I am currently the Fine Arts Deparment Head and Director of Bands at DWS, instructor of Horn at Darton College, and Second Horn for the Albany (GA) Symphony. Our second daughter is a cancer survior (Neuroblastoma, stage 4s). I have performed 1 season as principal horn with the Continental Orchestra in Denver, 4 seasons as Utility horn (horn 1-6)with the Valdosta Symphony and starting my 6th season as 4th and (currently) 2nd horn with the Albany Symphony.
