Scott's Story

Hi Everyone, I cannot believe it has been almost 30 years! I came to Miraleste in my junior year and it was my third high school. My parents were sort of vagabonds, and my brother, Mark and I had to be very flexible growing up. I had some great friendships there and have really fond memories of our days in class, and at all of the parties on the hill. After graduation, I slowly pushed my way through college and finally ended up teaching elementary school. I spent 17 years in the classroom, which included six years as an Activity Director at one of the oldest high schools on the West Coast, (lots of tradition). So, the guy who hated school events, became the one in charge of them all, plus the student government. I spent two more years as an assistant principal in La Quinta California, in charge of activities, and athletics. I currently work as an elementary school principal in Indian Wells CA. Tom Hove and I used to ride motorcycles together, and this turned into a lifelong passion. At the age of 40, I rode a KLR 650 to the arctic circle and back, 19 days and 6900 miles. I was living in Washington state, so the trip was less distance. I recently purchased a new motorcycle, a DR 650, because I need to...Expand for more
salve my midlife crisis. I am married to a wonderful lady, a nurse named Julie. She has progressed into hospital management, but still finds time to go camping, travel and laugh with me a lot. I have two kids, Nick, aged 13 and Emma age 12. Emma cooked us a gourmet meal tonight, as a part of a school assignment, and it was very good. She is an actress, and spends all of her free time at school or in the local theater practicing. She loves to dress up, put on wigs, and do stage makeup. I cannot tell where this will go, but she is loving it. Nick is my giant son. He is 13 and is already 6 feet tall, and is built for the NFL. As you all know, he did not get this from me. He rides dirt bikes with me, and loves to fish, and can sail a sailboat in San Diego Bay, pretty competently. He and I spend a lot of time together. It has been a while, but I do remember many of you and from time to time think about those days long ago. Many students have benefited from some of our antics, and that past history, as I have dealt with their mistakes with compassion, knowing I too did some of these things in my youth. I hope to make it to the botanical garden in July. Take Care everyone, Scott Davis Marauder Alumni
