Sean's Story

Life I'm in the military now... as a Naval Officer (Lieutenant [O3]) driving ships for a living. It is a lot of fun! I was an Air Traffic Controller, but still living in Virginia Beach, Virginia for now. Hard to believe that I was telling Pilots where to fly and how to fly, considering I was in the lower part my class in GPA, and had to take two 7th periods to graduate my senior year! Now Im actually putting the taxpayers money to its best use but still moving metal! But I made it and I love doing what I do, not many people can say the same. I'm married ( during Spring Break our senior year, 1994) to Tabitha Nobles, grad from Jenkins High School (Savannah, GA) 1994, and have 2 children, Chlarissa (Clarissa), who was born on my senior prom night, and Chandler who was a christmas present 1999 (December 23rd). Tabitha is an Officer in the US Navy (Lieutenant [O3]) as well. She graduated from Old Dominion University, with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science with a minor in History. As for me I graduated from Norfolk State University (BEHOLD! THE GREEN AND GOLD!) with a Bachelors of Arts in History with an emphasis on Naval Science. Its hard to imagine, the older you get the faster time slips by. Before to long a decade seems like only yesterday! I frequent Savannah on all holidays especially St. Patty's day, and on those Norfolk State/Savannah State football games! (GO SPARTANS! <they are as sorry as Windsor was, however, the band is on point!>). I have travelled the world and will be seeing Africa this fall. Cheap gold and Safaris are what Im looking forward to! Once I retire, I am going to teach high school or community college history, hop...Expand for more
efully back home in Savannah! School Well since I was bounced around a lot between North Carolina and Georgia, I was able to meet different kinds of people. However, as everyone knows, you always remember those that impacted your life or had a significant part in it. My first puppy loves were Casey Champion in the 2nd and 3rd grade and Laura Holt'. I was at AV Baucom Elementary School in Apex, NC. The best girlfriend a boy could ever have I met in middle school, at Derenne Middle School in Savannah, GA, her name was Chrissy (Christina) Ruarks. (She was my first true love). I moved away then she moved as well. Then in high school was my wife, Tabitha whom I met in 1992. She was the perfect fit to what I was missing, and we're still together now... 15 years later and still going!!! Military The military isn't as bad as everyone says it is. People working at McDonalds must wear a uniform and follow rules and directions, right? I must say it is definately an eye opener, and if your looking for a challenge in life, its definately the place to go. Be careful, choose your career path carefully! Some paths are better than others. GO NAVY! The government paid off my student loans and is invested over $200,000 in me to drive and learn to command ships. Everything is FREE essentially, I just have to commit 5 years... after that it is all at the drop of a hat... 30 days notice and Im out. The advantage of being commissioned. If I guaruntee another 5 years it pays $100,000 bonus ( $20,000 per year on the anniversary date). It is not a bad deal if you look at it. After 20 years... free check for the rest of your life! Good Luck and Take Care!
