Debbie's Story
Life
I am not the person I was back in "the day", for which I am eternally grateful.
A lot of hurtful, bad things happened in my life, much of which I am deeply sorry for. In my mid-to late twenties I made a decision to give my sorry-excuse-for-a-life over to God, mind/body/and soul, to do with as He saw fit. A decision I have never regretted.
I am married (not for the first time) to a wonderful, Christian man named Guy. Between us we have 3 boys: Jeremy (35), Eric (32), and Seth (31). Between Jeremy and Seth we have 6 g-kids, ages 2-15. Being a g-parent is the BEST thing EVER!!!
I am a tracker. I work, thru DSHS, with at-risk teens. I've done this for over 17 years now.
We are foster parents for these same type of kids. We work with boys only---seemed sort of natural after having raised 3. We've been fstr prnts for over 15 yrs. We...Expand for more
are a specialized home and take the hard to place kids that other foster homes reject. We do long term care--meaning we keep them until they are 18. It's not always easy, but it's always rewarding to see these kids as their hurts and brokeness are healed thru love, nurturing and the love of God.
Guy is a computer geek :) who loves his family, which is not always easy to do. We've been together over 27 years now.
I've learned to let go of the past, to learn from it, and to use it to help others who are hurting. God has been so good to me, to my family. I have lived with Him, and without Him. And "with Him" is far better than "without". I'll never go back.
