Sena's Story
Life
In '64 I married "Ken" Lacey. Ken was in the Air Force when we married so we were on the road alot. In '68 we moved along with the rest of my family(brother and sisters) to Virginia. We live at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and have fully enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of country living. We just celebrated our 43rd. wedding anniversary togeather!! We have one daughter and two sons(one adopted) Our oldest son (Greg) has been in the Marine corps for 13yrs. and recently re-enlisted . Our youngest son(Tyler) just graduated from high school in May '07 and is currently enrolled at PVCC. to study nursing. His goal is to work as a technition in the hospital emergency room. He also is a member of our local Resque Squad. My husband Ken works for the County in the position of Assesor of real estate for the purpose of taxes.(the guy no one likes to see come around!!) I worked for 18 years as a floral designer in a local florist shop. I re
tired in 2001 to care for my ailing father.
UPDATE>>>>>> May 2008
Tyler has changed his study at PVCC. from nursing to Paramedic. This will give him the training he needs for resque squad calls. He is also thinking about ...Expand for more
going into teaching. He has been substituting at the local elementry school in his spare time (he took a course in H.S. as teacher's assistant and really got hooked ) He is also taking American Sign Language this summer. It will be interesting to see what he decides!!
Our daughter is still working at the local H.S. in special Ed. She has been there 8yrs. now.
Our other son Greg is still in the Marine Corp. and currently serving in Japan. It will be good to have him home again in October. We're hoping his next duty station will be closer to home.
As for Ken and I it is busy, busy, busy. I thought things would slow up as we got older, but not so. Ken stays busy in his shop creating things and enjoying making gifts for people. He is also on the board of directors for the resque squad and serves as president. I am involved with the ladies groups at church making quilts to send to needy people abroad and also womens bible studies. We also try keeping our youth busy with activities and community work nights. I do at times miss working in floral design but I can still fix up an arrangement every now and then to take to a sick one or just to cheer someone up.
