Patricia's Story
Life
Happily divorced. Three grown kids,1 grandson, and 1 granddaughter. Live the country life on five acres in Citrus County Fl. I am a L.P.N., went to S.P.J.C. and then finished in 1988 at P.H.C.C. after getting older and wiser. Had to set a example for the kids. I have a chocolate poodle, who is my burglar alarm. My daughter and grandson, and most other extended family live within a few miles except my oldest son and his family who are in Grovetown, GA. My youngest son lives in Mississippi, not married. We always had a place up here in Citrus County, when I was growing-up so it was a perfect place to escape the traffic of Pinellas Co. I travel as much as I can and it's a treat to get away. My parents are both deceased now and I have 5 acres and a five bedroom pool home so I have a lot to take care of. I like to go to flea markets and shopping. I love to buy shoes and purses. Have been growing orchids for sometime now and they are a joy, not a lot of work as many people think. Over the years I have lived in Fayetteville, NC, (Ft. Bragg), Temple Terrace, Fl., then moved to Houston for 3 years and returned to Inverness in 1981. I have some property in North Carolina where someday I'd like to build a little shack to run away to.
I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family an...Expand for more
d friends thought that was most likely. As it turns out, they were right, I guess I always was a caregiver.
Now, my daughter and I share custody of my 3 step great grand kids, ages 8, 10 & 11. So, I am also a soccer/little league Mom now also.
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and install wooden cabinets and granite counter tops. Then finish it off with stainless steel commercial range.
My dream home would be self cleaning!!!!.
If I won $100 million, I'd give a big chunk of it to cancer research, then spend the rest on a big motor home and travel the USA, get a full time maid and pay-off my bills and all my kids bills.
My first job was at St. Anthony's Hospital, where I got paid student wage of 75 cents an hour to be a student nurses aide . What I remember most about it is I seemed to get all the shitty jobs, rectal temps, bedpans etc..
When I was a kid, we were never inside, we always had to do our homework and our chores and then get outside so the house didn't get dirty. Kids today miss out on building tree forts and riding bikes. The world seems to be a different place. Today's kids will never know drinking from the garden hose, getting sweat beads around their necks, and wearing out their shoes because the metal skate slipped off. Or even what a skate key is!!!
