Life Update: FINALLY finished my Masters! Now I am highly qualified to do what I do, but still paid less than I did out of ST! After 4 yrs of teaching, I realize why I didn't want to pursue this as a career choice so many years ago. The kids today aren't like WE used to be; our budget just got slashed and now we buy our own supplies (there goes the paycheck); and there's so much paperwork I never have time for my family. Teaching is a 24/7 job. But at least I did it -- got my degree and followed my dream. So it turned into my nightmare--now I'm off to pursue something new. When I figure that out ... more when I know! PS--Happy 50th to us all! OK, so I'm still working on my M.Ed.. will be doing the cap and gown thing again this Sept.(2007). I am finally teaching -- 2nd grade (thought they'd still be cute and impressionable at this age--NOT), still live in Vegas, still married, and my daughter is now 9. Kind of looking forward to seeing some REALLY OLD friends after 30 yrs. I don't think I feel 30 yrs older; pretty sure I don't look 30 yrs older! Vegas wears very thin after 15 yrs of dusty desert and smoke-filled casinos; HOPING to get back to CA in a couple years to be closer to family and friends. More in another year or two...
