Sharleen's Story

Life Hi Everyone, As my oldest entered Jr. High this year, I sit back and look over my Jr. High and High School years. A lot has changed over the years with style, and what kids do now a days. But one thing that I have noticed never changes. What you do with the time you have in School. Of course, my best memories are all the events and activities I did with Ms. Condit and Ag/FFA, but I must admit my overall high school experience was fun. I look forward to the upcoming years with my children as they decide with electives to take and clubs to join. Alexandria, my oldest, started her 6th grade year with wanting to do Color Guard, FFA, Band, and run for Student Government. Now we are looking toward Band or FFA, and she also joined the book club. What have I been up to the past 14 years ? Well.. I continued to work for my dad at his rental business up until the summer of 1993. In 1993, I married an old friend ( Stephan Sacco ), who was also a AHS student during our Sophmore year. I then spent 4 years in San Diego as a Navy wife. Stephan and I had our first child in October 1993, our second in 1997. We then moved to Pittsburgh, PA where a large portion of Stephan's family was, in 1998. In 1999, we had our 3rd child. Stephan and I seperated in the summer of 2000, and the kids & I moved to Tampa, FL. In May of 2002, Denise Grogg, one of my closest friends died. Some may remember her, she would have been in the Class of 1992 but had to move due to the death of her mother. I am still currently living just West of Tampa, FL, and in a commited relationship. On Valentine's Day of 2002, I had my 4th child, who I named after my great grandmother. In Oct of 2004 I finally got around to going back to school, and am currently attending FMU ( Florida Metropolitian University ). I will graduate October 2007 with my Associates in Business Administration. UPDATE : 10/29/06 Once I have completed my AS in Business, I am going to do a double major for my Teaching degree. I just completed a 2 week training program to substitute tea...Expand for more
ch in Head Start classrooms. I found that I really enjoy being in the classroom and being with the children. I have been busy recently between all of my activities. I serve on several committees. - Chairman of Head Start Parent Committee - Policy Committee Rep from my children's school - Policy Committee executive officer ( treasurer ) - Budget, Education, Nutrition, Family Services, & Staffing sub committees. - School Advisory Council & PTA - Over 600 volunteer hours in the classroom 15 years ago, I would have never pictured myself standing up in front of 60+ parents conducting a meeting, esp. since I was always afraid to stand up and give a report in class. I have about 30 or so animals. I breed cockatiels, love birds, guinea pigs, and hope to be breeding chinchillas soon. When I am not in the classroom or in meetings, I spend my days working on home work, working with my animals, or making candles & filling orders for my Candle business. When I have a chance I also do other crafts, such as ceramic painting, jewelcraft, cross-stitching, and preparing arts & crafts for the little ones in the classroom. I haven't been home in 10 years now. Maybe someday I will have a chance to get back to the Westcoast. I would love to hear from anyone that knows me. UPDATE : 03/2008 It is funny how life changes, and how things that happen in your life truely impact your future. I am now the lead teacher in a Head Start classroom. The same classroom my youngest was in last year, and that I substituted in quite often. I took over in Jan 2008 when the previous teacher retired. I also Co-coach the only elementary school cheerleading squad, in the state of Florida. It just goes to show that hard work does pay off. UPDATE : 07/2008 I will be starting my first full year as the lead teacher in a Head Start classroom. I switched majors from Business to Early Childhood Education, and am attending school at night, full time. My oldest is entering her first year of High School, and my 2nd child is entering his first year of Middle School.
