Sharlene's Story
After graduation, I went straight to working full time as a keypunch operator. That led to data processing, computer operations and then onto computer programming. Married Pete Novac in 1970; divorced a few years later. Worked at Fedder Data Centers (out of business now), Martin Marietta in Middle River. Married again in 1976 to Bud Bates from Essex, a professional photographer. Moved to Ocean City in 1981 and worked at Wor-Wic Community College as the Director of Computer Services. Divorced again in 1983 and moved to Salisbury. No kids though. Went to Salisbury University part time, never did earn my degree. few years. Switched careers again in 1990 to become a full charge bookkeeper and office manager. Met and married the love of my life in 1989, Dick Widgeon, from Salisbury and lived in that area until 2004 when Dick passed away from cancer. Moved to Lake Worth, Florida in 2005 and still living there. Work for a large CPA firm in West Palm Beach as a tax bookkeeper. Been widowed now for 12 years, not getting married again, but I do have a boyfriend who lives in Lake Placid, Florida about 100 miles away. Would love to see all of you again at a reunion whenever they have one. Still have family in Baltimore and love to visit. Hey, last year I went to the HON Festival in Hampden. It was a hoot!
