Sharon's Story
Life
I have to say my life is the complete opposite of what I envisioned in school. I was going to be an independent woman that traveled the world and didn't marry until late in life. Please, marriage and children would just slow me down. Here I am. Happily married for eleven years with a 3&1/2 year old and 7month old and loving every minute! No, I haven't traveled the world, but thanks to my husbands ties, I do visit California and Mexico on a regular basis. I have also been fortunate enough to visit Africa and Brazil through college. I still have the dreams to travel, but they will wait a few more years until we are done having babies and they are at least all toddlers. I always saw myself as a career woman with a high profile job. I still love to work, but I prefer it on a work at home basis, that way I don't miss a second with my little one. Kim. Happily, I am still hopping with the girls but now it's to the mall, getting coffee or at the park with our little ones. When I look back on school, my favorite thing was my best friends. I feel so fortunate to still be hanging out, in whatever venue, with the same girls today. I happily look at the most recent photo of Kim, Lys, Ang and I, from Kim's wedding, sitting above my computer and I know that I couldn't have gotten anything more special out of school!
College
I wouldn't change my years at TC for anything. I spent my first year of college at a college in NC that I hated. I couldn't wait for the year to be over. TC was a totally different experience. I made great friends and grew closer to God. I had the best professors in great size classes. Even when I went on to Lee Univerisity, still small by other school standards, it felt large and impersonal. I will always cherish my years and my friends at TC!
