Sharon's Story

Life My name is Sharon Rose Bauer and I've been many places, done many things, and have at present, one dear husband,6 children,12 grand children and 2 great grandchildren. My family is scattered all over the country and I don't get to see them very often.I reside in Edgemont,S.D. with my husband,Hank,I've made many mistakes in life, have a few regrets, wish I could do a few things over but with all the ups and downs I feel I've weathered lifes many storms and now have reached a plateau in my life where I can finally settle back and en joy life. I've seen just about all the states except Hawaii, and ended back where i started from. They always say "you can't go home", but I live not many miles from where I was born. I'm in the middle of a free lance writers course and at the end of it I hope to write a novel and hopefully break into the writing field. This is something I've been striving for all my life but there was always something stopping me from achieving my goal. I'm also into writing poetry and have had a few pieces put into poetry books on the market. School What do I say about Martin Grade School when it seemed I was sick a lot with sinus problems, ear aches, and the winters were so long & cold with lots of snow and I couldn't get to school because of blizzards.I loved to read and write poetry so that was a plus and my favorite teacher was Mrs. Utz in 7th grade. She had a beautiful personality.I remember in 5th grade staying after school when I couldn't seem to comprehend fractions, and my dad growing ...Expand for more
im patient because he had work to do at the farm and he was waiting down in front of the school for me to come out.I told my teacher I had to go to the bathroom and when I got to the bathroom I went through an exit door put there in case of fire, and slid down the fire escape and ran to my dad's car.My mother had conference at the same time with my teacher but they couldn't find me in the bathroom. My dad got a chuckle out of that but my mother and teacher weren't too happy.HaHa. High School at Martin was okay but nothing to brag about. If I'd applied myself more I would have done better but all I was interested in was writing and my English teacher,Zane Zeiman, was great and I learned a lot from him.Junior year I wrote a paper on Americanism and got an A on it and had to get up and say in front of the American Legion.i guess I should be proud that I graduated be cause I was the first in my family ofbrothers and sisters that graduated from high school. My favorite classes were English and Library. If I had it to do over I'd change a lot of decisions I made after high school. Workplace I was forced into an early retirement due to an truck/train accident that occurred back in 1978 that finally caught up with me.I worked for years and my back kept deteriating to the point my doctor told me,"no more lifting." So I changed from hard work to going to class online for something I've always wanted to do which is write.Hopefully I will be through my freelance writers course by 2005 and will be able to stay home and write stories.
