Sharon Oxley:  

I grew up in Orlando and attended Pine Hills Elem, Robinswood Jr. High, and Evans High School until moving to Ft. Lauderdale for a year in 1970. From there we moved to the boonies of Osceola county and I thought I had reached the ends of the earth, but 43 years later I am still on the same 10 acres of land! I am still best friends with Gail Acree, who was the very first person I met back in January of 1971. I think she is still trying to figure out how two total opposites like us have endured a friendship for so many years. You'll have to ask her what ever possessed her to introduce herself to me! After graduation, I married Jimmy Goodman (OHS Class of '70) in Nov of '72 and we were married for 19 years. We had our son Shawn in '79 and Amy in '88. We divorced in 1992 and I met Bill Oxley. We married in 1995. Strange story there, too. We are the same age, had grown up on the same street in Orlando, and gone to the same schools. I knew of his family, but didn't know him. He had married and moved to Kissimmee in the early 80's. Then all those years later, mutual friends introduced us and the rest, as they say, is history. I just retired from the Osceola County School District after 39 years. I began as a clerical aide at OHS in 1974 and moved up through the ranks to Principal/School Secretary, a position I held at 4 schools for the past 24 years.
