Sharon's Story
Sharon is from Mcallen, Texas. Sharon's schools include McAllen High School. Sharon later attended The University of Texas at Austin. Sharon founded The Children's Museum of Houston by incorporating it in 1980 after a visit to the Denver Children's Museum. She inspired others to join her in the effort as she served as the Pres for the first 4 years building a board of directors and fundraising and getting City of Houston to give seed money.. The first building on Allen Parkway was secured in 1985 and 10 years later one was build at the current location after a 14 million dollar capital campaign. The Museum owns a parking garage also used by the medical center. Sharon has sold real estate at Greenwood King Properties since 1995 and 2 other companies since 1980.
