Sharon's Story
The September after graduation I join the Navy and was sent first to Maryland just outside of Washington DC for ten weeks of boot camp and then to navy corp school just north of Chicago. my first duty station was Bremerton Naval Hospital in Bremerton WA. I spent two years there and ten transferred across Puget Sound to sand point naval station where I spent the remaining 2 years 9 months. I meet my husband there, got married in 1965 left the service and moved to Forestville Maryland-to live, worked...Expand for more
in Washington DC at an insurance company until my husband was transferred to Minneapolis. We were then transferred to Michigan for a short time before moving back to Washington State.
We had a daughter in 1972, divorce in 1978. I finished nurses training and went to work. The first 6 years I worked at a nursing home, then the next 24 I worked for the State of Washington at a Residential facility for the developmental delayed.
Last March 2009 I retired and have enjoying full time leisure
