One of the old family homes.
And the next day we meet up with Yvonne’s other son, Daniel , who will eventually drive us 700 km all around the Bern province!
Next day- on to see Urs and Margit who fixed a grand meal for us including her famous vegetable soup with veggies fresh from the garden, a salad also from the garden with Urs’ special dressing, a chicken main course, and 2
A trip to world famous Grindelwald. On my bucket list for hiking in summer. But not on this day. We were safe across the valley from this avalanche. But the sun was warm and we counted 7 avalanches coming down the mountain,
The medieval town of Gruyère. Can you say, cheese?
Cousin Thomas drives 3 hours just to have dinner with us in the local restaurant.
And here is Yvonne’s house from the side.
Cousin Giovanna, who joined us for dinner and lots of laughs after a hard day of work.
I am smiling because the hanging bridge is very secure! Swiss engineering❤️
Or maybe not.
And from the front.
Our home away from home for the next few days. We had a lovely bedroom and bathroom in this old Swiss farmhouse, but took all our meals with Yvonne, a 3 minute walk away.

Now on to the family village of Oberwil, to visit with Yvonne (far right) for a few days for our next adventure.
Just another look out the window. I could stare at these mountains all day❤️
It’s a good day when you have champagne for breakfast as you say good bye to fabulous Switzerland and her collection of even more fabulous Eschler cousins. ❤️

More parties- the next day a gathering of more Eschler cousins- Evi, Lourdes and Hans, Martin. Hans gifted us some of the Eschler spices, sadly some of the last with the Eschler name since they had sold their spice business
Urs is known as a 5 time Olympian for Switzerland! He also raises these champion rabbits. They’re born black but become silver white as adults.
